This study aims to measure the effect of a play therapy program on reducing stereotypical and repetitive behaviors in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The program was implemented on a sample of 4 children aged between 4 and 6 years, selected from a special education center in Amman. The study used an experimental methodology to assess behavioral changes before and after therapy using the Dysfunctional Behavior Scale. The results showed a significant improvement in reducing stereotypical behaviors and increasing social interaction among the children. Objectives: - Evaluate the impact of play therapy on reducing stereotypical and repetitive behaviors* in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. - Enhance social interaction and increase the children’s ability to adapt to environmental changes. - Provide recommendations* for implementing play therapy in special education centers. Methodology: The study utilized an experimental design, creating a therapeutic program of 27 therapy sessions over 9 weeks. The Dysfunctional Behavior Scale was used to assess the children before and after the implementation of the program. The therapy sessions focused on interactive play activities aimed at reducing stereotypical behaviors and enhancing social interaction.
